What is a Farmstop?

As part of our future planning, two Shared Harvest Board members, Carol Rauschenberger and Gail Cohen, attended a national workshop in Ann Arbor, MI on the concept of “Farmstops.” The farm stop model is growing rapidly across North America —an innovative way to protect small-scale agriculture, strengthen regional food security, and give people a convenient way to eat locally. Stop by the Downtown Elgin Market, visit us at Elgin’s Green Expo, or come to our Annual Meeting to find how we are weaving this concept into our Shared Harvest store.
